Aged for around six years. After three years, the tasting panel samples the bourbon to determine if the barrels are ready to be rotated down to a cooler more humid lower part of the warehouse for the rest of the aging process. This brings balance and color to the finished product by preventing the Maker's Mark from maturing too quickly and ultimately enhances the overall flavor of the bourbon.
